Laurie | Licensed Massage Therapist
Education: I received my massage certification from Lakeside School of Massage Therapy.
Places Lived: I have only lived in Wisconsin.
Places Traveled: I have traveled just in the U.S. I traveled a lot white in High School. I’ve been to a few places such as Florida, Iowa, Utah, Washington, D.C. and New York.
My Dream Vacation: I would love to spend some time in Australia.
Favorite Massage Modalities: I enjoy site specific massage and deep tissue work.
Philosophy on Healing: Everyone needs it in one way or another. It is good for a lot of things, not just if you want relaxation.
In my other life (before I found massage therapy): I was…kind of a jack of all trades. I used to be a vet tech, which I really enjoyed. I also worked for Lakeside as their admissions coordinator. I learned a lot there too. I also did some of your boring jobs and that everyone does as well. My passion with animals and massage made me take animal massage courses, which I also find enjoyable too.

Places Lived: I have lived in Milwakee and then had an extended stay in Omaha NE - until I missed Lake Michigan! Since then I've explored Cudahy, Pewaukee and Wauwatosa and am nestled again in Milwaukee.

Favorite Massage Modalities: Giving a therapeutic massage, opening my toolbox and using what's called for...Swedish, membration, lymphatic, myofascial, craniosacral.
Philosophy on Healing: In regards to life, for healing, I find it important to learn from life's lessons, to have forgiveness and gratitude and fashion a "new" life over and over. In regards to massage, I find it important to fell the pleasure, support relaxation, to breathe and be awake. All of this supports a healing environment to offer the wisdom of the body.
In my other life (before I found massage therapy): I was... a coronary care nurse and emergency driver. I'm still learning how to relax!

Places Traveled: I have been many places in the Midwest & South Eastern US. I also spent a month along the Eastern Coast of Australia and the North Islands of New Zealand.
Dream Vacation: I would love to go to the South Island of New Zealand or to St Thomas in the US Virgin Islands for a few weeks.
Favorite Massage Modalities: I enjoy combining therapeutic deep tissue, connective tissue, and trigger point work with a relaxing Swedish massage.
Philosophy on Healing: I believe that you have to listen to your body & come to understand what it needs in order to stay healthy and be at your best at all times. Everyone's body will something different so it's searching for what works for you and continuing along that path until a balance is found.
In my other life I was... a waitress, hostess, office assistant, farmer's market produce seller, youth mentor and a student at UWM an LSMT. Currently I do reception and massage at elements and I am also an Admissions Assistant at LSMT. I also volunteer for a non-profit youth leadership organization called Wisconsin Leadership Seminars, Inc (WILS).

My Dream Vacation: I love traveling, so I have more than one: Munich, Austria and Switzerland during Oktoberfest. Backpacking through Europe and vacation to Japan, which I think is the most wonderful place to visit.

Philosophy on Healing: I take a holistic view coupled with eastern philosophy. I believe healing is about treating spirit, mind and body; and that you need to not only treat the symptoms but address the causes of pain as well. I aim to live a balanced life in all three aspects as well.

Philosophy of Healing: I believe that if we think badly about ourselves we will not feel good. By thinking and speaking highly about ourselves and others we can heal ourselves. Some things may not get fixed or feel better but with time to take of yourself and others, good things can happen.

Places Lived: Been a Midwestern Wisconsin girl; however, moved from city to country small town-love it, farm field and all!
Places Travelled: US, West Coast to East Coast, Hawaii, Canada, and many states in between! Lake Superior is a nice get away, and I DO get away as often as possible.
My Dream Vacation: Back to Hawaii, the sun set and sun rise are unbelievable.
Favorite Massage Modalities: I focus on therapeutic pain release. I like to use the full body Swedish as my foundation massage and move the circulation and include trigger point deep tissue, myofacial release, tragger which is a nerve calming technique, acupressure, reflexology and hot stone.
Philosophy on Healing: Alternative medicine is affordable and will word off illness. Relax and take 3 deep breaths and feel your body. Take time to know yourself and get help when you need it. Love and compassion go a long way.
