Angie Lamothe  |  General Manager/LMT

Education: Bancroft School of Massage Therapy Certification in Massage Nationally Certified and Licensed in MA, Prenatal Certification, Hot Stone Certification, Thai Yoga Massage Certification level one.

Favorite Massage Modalities: I like Therapeutic, Deep Tissue, and Thai Yoga the best.  I enjoy all massage for the healing!

Philosophy on Healing: I believe the Wellness industry is growing more and more each year. Consumers believe that massage is a healing art and is getting recognized more and more. I am proud to be part of an industry that deals specifically with people that have a benefit for massage and want to make a change for themselves without medication. I would rather be able to heal a person without medication, because once medicated you are only treating the symptom and not the problem. I am a problem solver. If you have "issues in the tissues" so to speak I am the massage therapist that will work them out for you.

Carolyn  |  LMT / Lead Therapist

Education: I graduated with honors from Springfield Technical Community College with an associate's degree in Science in Massage Therapy

Favorite Massage Modalities: I love Thai Massage, it implements a lot of yoga moves and poses helps flexibility. Trigger Point Therapy targets the source of radiating pain. Increasing client's flexibility and decreasing pain are important parts of massage therapy.

Philosophy of Healing: We all should try to make time every day to be stress free. Our mind and body needs this to be healthy and happy. Accomplishing this is not easy; we are diverse individuals trying to adapt to changes in our lives. Massage is a great stepping stone to create some stress free time. Therapeutic touch increases proper movement, circulation and relaxation to create harmony with body and mind.

We asked our Therapists to Describe their own style and here's what they had to say for themselves: I can adjust well from light to deep tissue adding a lot influences with Thai Massage, Myofascial and Trigger point techniques.

Philosophy on Healing: Healing is something that must come from the heart and soul. If the healer is only in it for the financial aspect, then they are in it for the wrong reasons.

Kristen  |  LMT

Education: I studied Psychology at Illinois State University (B.A., 1997) and completed massage training at the Connecticut Center for Massage Therapy (2000). I've participated in hundreds of hours of post-graduate bodywork education, mostly clinical in scope, and additional college level coursework in exercise science and the studio arts. I earned National Certification in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCTMB) in 2000, Medical Massage Certification in 2001, and Newborn Massage Certification in 2004.

Favorite Massage Modalities: I like slow, strong pressure combined with movement. It is a therapist's ability to make connections between different things happening in my body (and mind) that impresses me most during a massage, rather than the particular techniques he/she uses.

Philosophy on Healing: It is my intention to meet the client's body where it is at, to work at a "therapeutic depth" that effectively addresses the issue and reminds the body of its possibilities. I believe the way the client thinks and feels about his/her own body and the work we do together strongly influences the outcome, that the client is an active participant in his/her healing process.

We asked our Therapists to Describe their own style and here's what they had to say for themselves: My style is a combination of relaxation and clinical work, using moderate to deep pressure. I have a strong history of helping clients manage discomfort related to fibromyalgia, tension headaches, neck and shoulder pain, and low back pain (especially in runners). I rely on knowledge, creative spirit, and a sense of adventure in all of my work.

Natural healing is more intuitive and it's important to listen to your own body's rhythm. Dominique  |  LMT

education: I graduated from Holyoke Community College with liberal arts associates degree. Then I went to Greenfield Community College, a two year program that I completed in one year with honors for massage therapy. I am a Licensed Massage Therapist in Massachusetts. I intend to continue my education in the field of physical therapy.

Favorite massage modilities: I know how to do pregnancy, myofascial release, trigger point, deep tissue, joint mobilization, and swedish massage. However, my favorite is intergrated, cliental massage. I have found that combining several modalities, I can achieve greater satisfaction for my clients.

Philosophy healing: Healing can be experienced through many methods, including; medication, physical therapy, chiropractic, and many alternative therapies, including massage. I truly believe any, and all of these can be beneficial depending on the individual.  Nobody knows your body better than you, even when you think otherwise. The key is to become more aware of your body; and that is where massage can make a real difference.  Touch has been proven, to be crucial for living a healthy life. For example, in Harry Harlow's experiment with monkeys. You can read more on at this site en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harry_Harlow.  Massage has been around since eqyptain times, however, I believe it is crucial now more than ever before because we live in a stressed out world. We are physically caved inward and eventually will become hunched back, but you can reverse this process with massage. Massage is heals in so many ways, it gets to the problem were the other modalities do not. For example, some medications can hide the pain. However, pain is a signal telling the body something is wrong. All we are doing we shutting off the alarm. Even chiropractors and phyical therapist need massage therapists before the session so the muscles are warmed up. This is just a tiny synopsis of why massage is so benefical and my belief in it!

We asked our Therapists to describe their style and here's what they had to say about themselves: It all depends on the client, it is your time, so my goal is to make it about you! Whether you are here for a therapeutic session or a relaxation session, I will make sure that the pressure/temperature/enviornment is to your liking. Its all about your needs!

Level of Pressure: 3+

Dominique's Hours are: Sat 9-12:30, Sun 12:45-7pm
